Stopping for the night in Columbia Missouri after taking a picture of Beetle Bailey. I remember reading Beetle Bailey in the funny pages every day. We had a great day taking the back roads instead of I-70. Saw tons of barns and great houses along the ...

... soon will be back in the dead zone. Tomorrow we leave here and head further north into Iowa. For the next week we will be in Coralville, IA. Hopefully we will have better luck with our electronic items. Today we got notice of a cancellation to our reservation at Somerville Lake for Aug 22, so we'll have to find another place for that time. Will let you know when we figure it out.

Probably will be Tuesday before I blog again. Have a good start to your week.

... 120 extra miles and spent $100 for nothing. Boy, that bratwurst was expensive.

Finally got past Columbia late on the 9th and was able to stop along the Katy Trail in Rocheport. The trail just east of Rocheport is one of the most scenic stretches with high sandstone bluffs on the one side and the Missouri river right along the other side of the trail. With the river still in flood stage there were places where the water was only 2-3 feet ...
