Katelyn - There were numerous amazing moments and days, but besides the safari and chocolate cake, I would say that a highlight for me was on the small little island after the hot springs where we all stood taking in the beauty of the vast lake and sunset. On New Year's Day we went into the city. Sadly there were no shops open given it was a holiday. We have done almost no shopping while we've been here, that might change I guess once we get to LA. ... halfway around the World in Copenhagen, so far removed from that moment of sorrow. Perhaps it was all just a matter of coincidence, but perhaps it truly was an instance of divine providence - it's impossible to say, but seeing that quote once more was another reminder of why we were there.

So eat dessert first we did, both literally and figuratively - bringing ourselves to the brink of diabetic comas as we sampled as many pastries ...

... between Cranbrook and the Alberta border. Finally I force myself to keep my eyes open. I watch how the BC style of highway disappears and the Alberta style takes over. I am surprised that there are not 4 lanes and I have been telling Jim and anyone who will listen this whole past week, but the road is wider because the shoulders are wider and the brush is cleared further away from the road. It just feels more open and less cramped. As ...
