Day One - Departure
We woke up at 3:30am on Sunday morning, left for the airport at 4:30am, then got to the airport at 5am. The plane finally left at 7:00am. The flight to Houston took about 4 hours. Journey of a Thousand Miles
Ok, so I am leaving for Madrid tomorrow. Just wanted to set this up really quickly before I finish packing. I am leaving at 11:20 AM tomorrow and will have a layover in Atlanta for about 4 hours before arriving in Madrid at 9AM. Hopefully there won't be any screaming children, but if there are I have noise-cancelling headphones. Alright, I will try to update in ATL, but if that's not possible I will definitely write when I land in Madrid!

Getting our gear!
... I had no idea so much was involved with purchasing travel backpacks. We were sized and the bags were weighed down. My bag seems to be a good fit - and holds plenty of clothes, my camera and a small laptop so we can share our journey as we go along.
Packing will be the next adventure.. Thankfully, the climate is mild so we won't need any heavy clothes.
