I talked at length about the school, its history and my family connection in last year’s blog ("On the Road… Again" 2014). I continue to be deeply impressed by the closeness of the students and faculty and their commitment to MPH. Friday afternoon I took a 5th grade student-led tour of the facility. The redeeming feature of Salina was Martinelli's Little Italy where we had an excellent meal.

We rose early, had alight breakfast and were on the road by 7am. The highway was very good, light traffic most of the way and straight! We arrived in Niagara Falls around 3.30, settled in and then walked to our first views of the Falls. They are every bit as amazing as I imagined. We had dinner at Johnny Rocker's after which I retired and Rick and Mum went to the ...

... offered their driveway if I couldn’t find a place… isn’t that awesome! There are some really great people in this country. I did find a place, so I didn’t take them up on their offer, but I won’t forget their offering of hospitality.

New York State has added a notice on their rest area signs- "Text Stop"- a good idea, but I still passed several people weaving along, bent over their cell phones ...
