    We're by the beach ...

    ... the challenges of the local 'mini golf' courses. They are mini-golf courses like nothing we've ever seen before. One even has a volcano (about 25 feet high) that spews out pink water (simulated lava)!

    Oh and I also spotted an alligator in the golf course lake just outside our condo this morning …

    ... those darn Pelicans are hard to catch on film, they are amazing birds huge! Average size has a 10ft wing span there are several varieties we've mostly seen the black ones and white, the black dive for their fish it's really something to watch they free fall from the sky directly into the water and pop up with a fish...the white ones open up their big bills and scoop them up more delicate. :-)

    ... help you but a few times just me, so it's easier to hold the boat from the mid ship it's big and heavy! Bryan loves this boat and enjoys learning all the technology, charting, fuel tests etc. I'm his ears on the radio that's a challenge as the speaker is on the wrong side we will look at getting another one, I'm happy that I can help him fulfill this retirement dream :-)...we are a good boating team!

    Eastern North Carolina barbecue is unique as the BBQ sauce is made from a vinegar base with hot pepper. We stopped at a Smithfield BBQ restaurant for a pork barbecue lunch complete with hush puppies, cabbage slaw, and potato salad.     ... stay at a Motel 6 on my way to DC to break up the drive. But I cancelled that and extended my stay in Wilmington.

    I went to the beach a couple of times. Again, a beautiful beach. But both days were pretty windy and chilly and there were zillions of spring break folks everywhere.

    Only took two pictures - the beach and the great fire I built. Sorry there aren't more. I guess I was just too busy enjoying my time there ...
