Salt River Fields At Talking Stick is a spanking new ball park shared jointly in the Cactus League by the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. When the D-backs and Rockies defected from Tucson after 2010 spring training, the object of their affection was this new and glorious gem in Salt River Fields on the outskirts of Scottsdale. The park opened its gates to the smack of the ball in late February 2011. It can be found at 7555 N Pima Road.

It's always hard to say goodby to the kids and grandkids. I usually recover from the "pout" within a day and having the warm weather and sunshine helped. It's cooler here than when we were here in December but still very nice. I think the high was in the low 60's the first day but supposed to get up in the upper 60's within the week.

... and boxes! We took them and a package for John to the FedEX place where they packaged the Train boxes. Johns big package cost $13 and James was around $115 to ship! We also went to the mortuary – We had originally set up a small service in Portland Willamette Nat Cemetery for Thur morn but no way we could keep that, so they gave James the service flag and they will take remains to Portland in the next few days. We did not find his service record until this (wed) afternoon. ...
