We left Melbourne at 6:00 am and headed north. It turned out to be a perfect travel day. The weather radar would suggest otherwise though....but our journey proved it wrong. 1-95....the road traveled most today was spotted with drizzle as storm clouds loomed around us. Barely enough rain justified even turning on our wipers. Best of all...traffic was very light. The weekend after Labor Day must have most people home settling in to ...

In these small towns and cities where our nation was founded, burial sites were a big deal...why else would there be a cemetery on every corner. ... for Christmas. I know my mom and dad are sad I won't be here yet happy for Johnnie and me. Our plane leaves this afternoon and all is ready. I am awaiting Johnnie to return from work and my limousine. (It is really my mom and dad's truck but limousine sounded much more sophisticated.) We will soon be off to the airport for the next 2 days of flying. I know, we won't arrive in Cairns until December 21st! The time change is really going to mess with us. ...

T'was the night before take off when all through the house,
all the creatures were stirring even ourselves.
Johnnie is crazy and I'm following suit.
Kitty is thinking, "Can't wait to give them the boot. The stockings are hung and a decorated tree. My oh my, an adventure for me!!!!"
The suitcases are packed, well sort of, and all our technology too.
We'll take lot of pictures of kangaroos.
