Just starting our second day at the Wingate in Erie. We arrived to a very clean room. I love the white bedding. It really gives me some confidence in the cleanliness.
We ordered delivery from TGI Fridays, which was pricy (no prices listed on the menu), but the delivery girl was extremely helpful and accommodating when she took my order. The food took an hour to arrive, and it wasn't super hot- but it met our needs for the evening.
We slept well in very comfortable beds with lots of fluffy pillows, and enjoyed the adjustable thermostat in the room.
My only complaints are the fact that the refrigerator was off when we arrived and it took all night- turned all the way down- to get semi cold.
Other than this- it was quiet beyond the air conditioner being rather loud when the fan kicked on, and neighboring doors seemed to slam loudly. Nothing a new sleep machine app couldn't fix. It would have actually been perfect had our MP3 alarm clock worked (the alarm button was jammed in and it would not allow me to set or turn it on.). Again- not a huge deal, tho, as we have our phones.
The TV is very nice and modern, but is limited on channels unless you purchase a package or pay $6.99+ for a movie. We hoped to use our iPad to play Netflix- but we're without USB connection. (Tho there is HDMi- I just hadn't come prepared with the proper connections.) We ended up setting up the laptop and watching Netflix on the free wifi.
This morning we enjoyed a nice continental breakfast. Everything was stocked and clean- even arriving very near the end. The selection was limited but definitely beat the granola bar and yogurt we would have had otherwise.
All and all a great experience, so far. I will definitely be staying here on future trips.

Woke up sleepy but refreshed and ready for a new fun filled day! Got hannah up and ready with 20 min to spare for breakfast. We enjoyed French toast and strawberry yogurt. Plus an awesome cup of coffee, and hannah brought some tea for later, back to the room. I laughed so hard when we got back to the room- hannah has her own card, and when the door …
... have been able to capture not only what we did, but how it changed us here in this blog. Words cannot accurately express everything I'm feeling now that I'm home, but I am so grateful that I was able to participate in such a life changing experience at such a momentous time in my life. Thank you to Gannon University for affording me this experience, but most importanly, thank you to everyone who has experienced it with ...
... a few key tourist attractions in each city on our itinerary, we have left plenty of time open to explore, meet locals, and create memories that cannot be found in a travel guide. I have created this blog in hopes of capturing those small moments that cannot be planned. My next post will cover our departure and the first leg of our journey - I can't wait to get started!
After checking all our lists we left Buckhorn at 11:30. Driving was smooth with a few delays through Central Toronto but we definitely missed being in any rush hour traffic. Got through the Canada/US border without a hitch. Thanks to our Nexus cards we were able to sail through and not wait in line for a moment. Roads had no snow so driving was a pleasure. That 6 feet of snow in Buffalo is all gone! ...
