Just starting our second day at the Wingate in Erie. We arrived to a very clean room. I love the white bedding. It really gives me some confidence in the cleanliness.
We ordered delivery from TGI Fridays, which was pricy (no prices listed on the menu), but the delivery girl was extremely helpful and accommodating when she took my order. The food took an hour to arrive, and it wasn't super hot- but it met our needs for the evening.
We slept well in very comfortable beds with lots of fluffy pillows, and enjoyed the adjustable thermostat in the room.
My only complaints are the fact that the refrigerator was off when we arrived and it took all night- turned all the way down- to get semi cold.
Other than this- it was quiet beyond the air conditioner being rather loud when the fan kicked on, and neighboring doors seemed to slam loudly. Nothing a new sleep machine app couldn't fix. It would have actually been perfect had our MP3 alarm clock worked (the alarm button was jammed in and it would not allow me to set or turn it on.). Again- not a huge deal, tho, as we have our phones.
The TV is very nice and modern, but is limited on channels unless you purchase a package or pay $6.99+ for a movie. We hoped to use our iPad to play Netflix- but we're without USB connection. (Tho there is HDMi- I just hadn't come prepared with the proper connections.) We ended up setting up the laptop and watching Netflix on the free wifi.
This morning we enjoyed a nice continental breakfast. Everything was stocked and clean- even arriving very near the end. The selection was limited but definitely beat the granola bar and yogurt we would have had otherwise.
All and all a great experience, so far. I will definitely be staying here on future trips.

Woke up sleepy but refreshed and ready for a new fun filled day! Got hannah up and ready with 20 min to spare for breakfast. We enjoyed French toast and strawberry yogurt. Plus an awesome cup of coffee, and hannah brought some tea for later, back to the room. I laughed so hard when we got back to the room- hannah has her own card, and when the door …
... and we had a great time sharing a few stories about the family. After dinner, Chris and Stephanie headed back to the KOA, and CIndy and I soon followed after picking up our truck from Kimmie and Donnie's house. All in all, Meadville was very different than I expected. It was surprisingly emotional for me to see all of the places. Even the places I vaguely remembered from my last visit, like the Kerr farm, were vastly different ...
... Our drive over was only about 205 miles, and involved many scenic routes through the hills of the Allegheny mountains of western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. We had a 75 mile run on I-86, which we decided was one of the prettiest roads we had driven on the entire trip. Leaving Watkins Glen at 10:30 AM, we expected a leisurely 4 hour drive. Road construction and a few detours, combined with a couple of breaks pushed our arrival ...

Thank you to Gannon University for affording me this experience, but most importanly, thank you to everyone who has experienced it with ...
