Today began a new adventure for me....I left Pensacola this morning and am currently at the Atlanta airport waiting for my flight to Washington DC. From DC I'll go to London, then after a 13 hr layover I'll head to Johannesburg and finally I take a small flight to Gaborone, my final destination. At the University of Botswana, I'll be studying public health with my classes focusing on the issues in Botswana and I'll also be taking a ...

The day started with a minor flight delay but a short two hour flight into Atlanta for Jared. Natalie was waiting with open arms for a long overdue hug! Our first stop was to the Park Tavern at Piedmont Park. Where we sat under the covered patio by the fire while watching ice skaters try to show off their best moves. ... me minutes to recover. Asked her how she got them on and she said she just had them in her bag and they went through the scanners. What's worse she had steel circulars... not even plastic or bamboo like I have. Then to make matters worse - she proceeded to sleep for the whole flight and barely knitted at all... what a waste.

      Anyway enough complaining.

Thank goodness for GPS. We picked up the Kia rent a car today. Odd ...

I booked my flight through Southwest, so I'd get 2 free check-in bags. I was somewhat nervous that my bags would be overweight. When I got to the airport, my fears came true: both of my heck-in bags were over the weight limit! They were 56 and 58 lbs... (max limit = 50 lbs). So much for my meticulous packing! I spent the next 15 mins on the side re-consolidating my stuff... I put on ...
