    Jurassic World

A travel blog entry by sojanet on Jun 19, 2015

I went to see Jurassic World 3D with my parents. The movie tickets in this town are so cheap-- $12.75 for adults, $9 for seniors-- and that's for 3D!! There was live music across the street and overall a very good Friday night atmosphere in town! I thought the movie was very entertaining. The 3D aspect wasn't too astounding, like I never felt like the dinosaurs were right in front of me or coming towards me, but the creation of a theme park on screen was very exciting! Highly ...

I was not able to erect myself into a full headstand from the ground, but that's totally ok! I definitely want to incorporate these into my practice, maybe once or twice a week. I signed up for paddleboard yoga for Wednesday. You take a paddleboard out to the water and do yoga on the ...

Wrapping up week 2 back from the Vipassana retreat and 2nd to last week before I go off to Emory!

It's been a great week! My mom and I have been doing evening 1-hour sittings together. I downloaded audios from the website with old student resources. Recorded circa 2000, these audios have a lot of background noise, which I edited out using a program called Audacity. I haven't used it since linguistics courses in college, but ...

... to talk to the teachers or course managers. This came to be hard when sleeping in a cabin with 7 strangers! But it surprisingly worked out ok. The next day (Day 1), we were woken up at 4am by a gong. From 4:30-6:30am, you have to meditate either in the hall or in your residence. I ventured to the hall on the first day. Sitting for 2 hours was no joke. We had assigned seats, and I was in the way back right by the door. People kept suffling in and out, and ...
