... and got a snack to carry up the mountain for lunch. Erin and I got pistachio energy bars and we all got a shortbread pastry covered with caramel and then chocolate.

... the Jacobite Rebellion. It sits eerily and silently standing watch over the Loch Ness. The castle is inundated with tourists, and although it's quite impressive we've seen more awe-inspiring castles that were less populated. The stone walkways and parapets look shrunken and many ruins appear to sit under the soft green grass. Daisies grow out of the stone towers. We have our picnic lunch overlooking the castle and the Loch Ness.
