... br> We arrived at Tilpa Weir that arvo right beside the river where the old bridge was. Although it’s not there now, the water flowing over the rocks was quite loud and very refreshing. There were plenty of birds around and a number of pelicans fishing in the shallows.

We collected our bags (yes, they did follow us) and then proceeded to find a taxi. Have to remember to speak slower and make sure that people know English before rattling off instructions. Lovely taxi driver though.

We had found refuge from the astronomical prices of hostels during the lions games with one of Mums friends from Zim, Suse 'Goble' Davies who lived in the city. We really struck gold with that family. Unbelievably generous and so accommodating they gave Roz and I their extra twin Ensuite room as our own for three days ...
