... No one has ever misunderstood me when I use
noises. It's fail-safe. I am thrilled that she, on Monday, asked me
about how to prepare some foods. She was embarrassed, but had the
courage to come up to me and ask several times about tricky wording
and feed calculations. Good on her!

Yu and I spent the next few hours
cleaning the Tassie devil glass windows, trimming the grass in their
enclosures with Saori, and preparing the mammal food. ...

          The highlights of the week:
First has to be Connors first birthday, watching him opening his presents and playing with his friends at the picnic in the park party. Dave and Trent secured the pitch at 6.45 AM on the Saturday morning, with the girls making the food and party decorations in the theme of Monsters such as a Monster cake, monster eye balls and strawberry monster teeth. The adults has as much fun as the kids, ...

... mum's little dog Charlie had to be put down while we were away, as he had internal bleeding. He was 15 years old and had a good life (being the boss for most of the time). Marcus and Hamish have been looking at the sky at night, searching for the brightest star where Charlie is sitting with Oma Elsa, looking down at us all.

Well, that brings us to the end of the journey and back to where we started.

... Bec went off to do other things (Close Encounters, programs, tours,
etc.) and I made the bat, wombat, and echidna food. It made me crave
fruit and, truth be told, I got passion fruit and a paw paw later
that day. The wombats got large chunks of veggies and some dry food.
The fruit bats got 100% fruit. The echidnas got the most fun thing:
soaked dog food and raw meat. You mash it all together, add some
insectivore powder, add some fly pupae, then stir it together. It ...

Friday 14th August - Vicki and I caught the bus to the airport- uneventful thank goodness. On our way back from Gold Coast on Thursday Bob and I had seen a huge pileup South bound with traffic stretching back for kilometres with a Connexions bus stuck unable to move - I would have been a tad anxious if I had been caught like that.
At check in we were greeted with -" I'm sorry - you have no booking from Sydney and I can't put your luggage through ...
