... We are even travelling without bikes, they provide the bikes when we arrive in Italy. The downside is that our normal freedom to make it up as we go along and stay extra days in places that we find along the way has been removed by advance hotel bookings. Feel free to follow as we go via the blog. Don't expect massive distance and fast speeds, we are on holiday! ...

Only a couple of months to go and I won't be sad to go home to Australia and get ready for another adventure, I have not found anything that resonates with me as a person over here. Even Qatar, Bahrain, Dubai they are not places that I will be dreaming about or trying to fit in a quick trip to like Vietnam.

... colonized or occupied. In the late 1800's Bahrain made a treaty with the United Kingdom to give them military protection. Then, in 1971, Bahrain declared independence from Britain. Bahrain became it's own kingdom in 2002. The 2010 census put the population of Bahrain at 1,234,571.

The government of the Kingdom of Bahrain is a Monarchy Dictatorship. Maybe I should have taken a few days to see a little of this small archipelago ...

... stream of Muslims as terrorists and villains pollutes your mind. It bothered me while I was there that I was bothered. Yet, as a woman there are aspects of orthodox Islam that trouble maybe it's a more complicated issue.

... my brain would not compute what had just ridden past!!! Think the flying nun. On that note I also find it very weird seeing a lady in a full face covering driving a car around camp......and yet dark window tinting is not allowed......

Missing; I miss the freedom of wearing shorts and a t-shirt and just going in public and polite men, yes men in Australia even those with mullets wouldn't dare to lear like they do over here......they would get punched.
