... and sumac all ground together. I am totally in love with it spread like jam over hot flat bread with a little bit of oil. Its like pesto only better. The other thing that I have fallen for is Arabic coffee, or more correctly the Saudi version of arabic coffee.

... br> In Saudi I have time in abundance so I have started a sour dough plant, a ginger beer plant and this week I made my first loaf. It was beautiful, soft, risen, slightly chewy, amazing I was so proud of myself that I cut it in half and delivered some to a friend around the block. So I am trying again today and so far it is looking like a success.

... yum in a total gross way and snake beans - great with tofu and soya sauce. I have been surprised that I can get anything I need to cook over here, miso paste, dried seaweed, mushroom in all shapes and sizes, beautiful fresh fruit and veggies, its kind of fortunate actually because I have no desire to eat Halal meat.


On the t.v front I watched a whole NCIS in Italian with Greek subtitles...........that was odd and about half way through the ...

So weekend three and the start of week three in Dhahran, I finally made it to Ikea this weekend. Amazingly exactly the same as every other Ikea on the planet........ so that was uneventful. I also made it to the mall, but it was closed because of Ramadam, so we went to Saco (like Bunnings) and I bought some lucky bamboo & loctight (to fix my bike) instead of what ever I would have bought at the mall.
