    ... dinner at Olive Garden, and while the food there was definitely sumptuous, it was perhaps a bit unhealthy and wasteful. I didn't want to go there again.

    The hotel was marvelous, and the beds were amazing. I reported to bed by 6pm and had some trouble falling asleep, but eventually got in about 9 hours of sleep by the next morning where we tried the free breakfast at the hotel.

    We had a wonderful week of high 70's F weather in Surprise with Gil & Lois (Brie - that's about 26 C. I know you don't comprehend degrees F). ;oP

    Gil & Roger had fun trash talking each other while playing cribbage. Lois and I would steer clear - they get nasty! They also had fun betting on the NFL playoffs over the last few weeks. It was fun to watch them flip a coin for first pick, then call each other names as they picked their teams. ...

With temperatures hovering around 0 degrees C, the wind whipping the snow over the highway was creating slippery sections.     ... city (see photo and commentary). Being a vegetarian on Thanks Giving I made sure I prepared some food to eat. Mary was very obliging, letting me help myself in her kitchen. Mary's son Aaron works at an organic supermarket (yes I'm as surprised as you that there is an organic supermarket in Arizona) so he picked me up a Tofurkey - which ended up being very tasty.
