By trade, I am a sports writer and set to embark on a most amazing journey.

We begin Tuesday Jan. 14 in Tokyo and finish on March 31 in Shanghai. Overall, we plan to visit eight countries and countless treasures.

Along the way, you'll accompany Waynette, my wife and myself, Mark, and the people we encounter along the way. We consider ourselves adventurous travelers and booked this entire trip ourselves. ...
