A relaxing, beautiful place to start

Everyone has been extremely accomodating & helpful to us here. Both pools are great, the swim up bar was pretty fun, but the coctails were steep compared to some out of the way spots we found while cruising the streets. The variety at the continental breakfast is super fantastic. We feel extremely safe and comfortable staying here. Not a bad spot to have as a home base while here. The only 2 things to think about are: If you want inexpensive drinks, don't get them at your hotel, head out into the streets and find yourself some deals... the other thing, go online and prebook if you want to get a deal for this hotel, we got a great room on www.asiarooms.com

... such a nice man and gave us a good price for the day.

Our other favourite Indonesian foods have included Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng and Rendang curries - finding a great local restaurant in the back streets of Kuta meant our meals (with our favourite beer Bali Hai) were coming to around 1.50 - got to love Bali for value for money!...After all, a hard day boogie boarding in the rolling ...

... were just not in flower. There was also a Cactus garden which had many different types of Cactus's. Most of the rest of the Gardens were viewed from the car window which was nice and cool inside the air conditioning. After we left the Gardens we headed to the famous floating Temple. Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is famous for being a water temple in Bali, with the photo of the Temple being an iconic one when people see photos of Bali. Arriving at the Temple it was quite busy with lots ...

... capsule, they lock you in, there's a countdown 3-2-1, then the floor falls away and you shoot vertically down zooming through a flume and then the flume shoots back up at a ridiculously steep angle (such a steep angle in fact they actually have access panels at the top for people who don't quite manage to make it over and get stuck!). Well glad we went we finished the day with a late evening surf before once again heading to bar street and also meeting up with our friend ...

Here again, in search of some new head phones before heading north for some more diving. I'm thinking I have a giant sign on my forehead "I'm a tourist, please rip me off!". It's not like at home where you'd walk into say Bestbuy or Future ...

... couple walking as close as they could by the bottom of the waterfall in their swim wear, a bit too dangerous if you ask me we then continued a steep climb up stairs and rocks and little hidden pathways to the second waterfall. The walk was quite difficult because apart from walking mostly uphill we also had to walk through rivers a couple of times with our bags on our back and our shoes in our hand, the real thing! We well and truly climbed to ...
