Everyone has been extremely accomodating & helpful to us here. Both pools are great, the swim up bar was pretty fun, but the coctails were steep compared to some out of the way spots we found while cruising the streets. The variety at the continental breakfast is super fantastic. We feel extremely safe and comfortable staying here. Not a bad spot to have as a home base while here. The only 2 things to think about are: If you want inexpensive drinks, don't get them at your hotel, head out into the streets and find yourself some deals... the other thing, go online and prebook if you want to get a deal for this hotel, we got a great room on

Finally I get from the Australian Immigration the grant notification that they allow me a visa. And on Friday, we can even pick up the visa for Timor. Uff, I'm relieved. Now we have still some time and we make a trip to Ubud and to a beautiful beach. In Ubud I was disappointed, because too many tourists and traffic are on the streets. I also do not know why so ...

... out and finding our way around. We quickly found the one and only fault in Gili island which is the coral which is at the shore and you half to attempt to walk over before entering the deeper sea - we hope this can be avoided with some "sea shoes". The locals are so friendly and everyone seems to bend over backwards to ensure you are happy! I thought Kuta in Bali was my favourite place but I think we have moved on to bigger and better ...

... sports bars and we eventually found ourselves back at the hotel just in time for our massage. 1 hour for approximately $30AUD. Though Tina had little complaint Alexis tended to believe the woman was trying to drive her elbow through his spleen. An hour of relaxing (bruising and face pull inducing) massage and we had little option (well, truth be told we had lots of options. Just didn't take them) but to go to the swim up ...

... to instantly be surrounded by the creatures. But no. Nothing. Well... we did see a big ol' Leopard Eel and a Bamboo Shark. That was cool! Laura and I got back into the boat a little discouraged (I also couldn't dive very deep due to ear equalization problems. I thought it would be easy for someone with a nose my size). Laura and I's dive group was the first to get back to the boat. Then we saw the other dive group surface... too far out of the ...
