Everyone has been extremely accomodating & helpful to us here. Both pools are great, the swim up bar was pretty fun, but the coctails were steep compared to some out of the way spots we found while cruising the streets. The variety at the continental breakfast is super fantastic. We feel extremely safe and comfortable staying here. Not a bad spot to have as a home base while here. The only 2 things to think about are: If you want inexpensive drinks, don't get them at your hotel, head out into the streets and find yourself some deals... the other thing, go online and prebook if you want to get a deal for this hotel, we got a great room on

... this trip and now all the future-stuff is done is becomes more logical to look back rather than forward. We’re also thinking about what we need to do when we get back to the UK – moving to a new city, finding new jobs and somewhere to live, these will all present new challenges to us, and this is something which has been at the back of our minds for a while and which is now moving to the front with some ...

... on a bike. When they took off I then realised he was pulling us over! WHAT! I told Laura to get out 50,000 Rp ready to bribe the Police. We got off outside a small shop and the guy comes up and says in fresh English 'You stop on the line for people to cross the road!' . . . 'International Licence and Registration'.... I don't have a International Licence so they start to say, 'We charge you 500,000 Rp for not stopping in time ...

... won and we carried on. Around the next corner was a junction with a small eatery (Warung) so we headed in there hungry after a relatively small breakfast. The woman who took our order had an unusually good amount of English and we both opted for dishes we’d not had before. As we ate, we noticed that there seemed to be a number of locals turning up on mopeds, approaching the owner and either handing over piles of cash or collecting them with no ...

Watch at your own peril, The next day havinh hired bikes and snorkels we rode round the island until we found a good snorkeling spot (given away by the snorkeling trip off shore) and saw amazing schools of brightly colored, odd looking fish. Liz even overcame her fear of snorkeling with the grace of a mermaid as she entered the water. After a drink stop we continued cycling and despite ...

... was like being married again, turning the central heating up and down! The trip was good but I much prefer being on my own and setting my own scedule but here in Ubud it wasn't possible. If only I had an International Driving Licence, something I didn't think of! The police in Bali are on every road pulling in people for checks and being corrupt, charge vast amounts of money to let you go. So here I wasn't prepared to hire a scooter and to be ...
