Landed at Bangkok airport half an hour early at 3pm. Long queue to go through immigration but he line moved quickly. Customs was virtually non existent after collecting baggage. Outside customs a man was holding up the name MARK BETTS and passed us over to the tour guide 'Nick'. He was very nice and thorough and arranged our pick up for 7.30 am on the following Monday while we waited for another couple to arrive. He then ...

Nicola gave me some max strength flu tablets and thankfully our first bus was pretty big so it meant I got a seat to myself to fall asleep. After ...

I found the train station and got the express train to the city "Phaya Thai" station which was about 8 stops and cost me 45 baht (approx 90p) it took about 30 mins. Then i changed onto the BTS which is like their underground system. I only had 1 stop to go and got off at Ratchatchewi. This journey cost 30p. A 2 minute walk took ...

... around, we cycled in to a sea of flies, not what you want at 4.30 in the morning listening to "lady in car, buy something" "lady on bike, buy something" "lady why are you laughing" directed at Carolijn! We managed to get away from them, lock up our bikes and follow the crowd. There was a last minute panic as we weren't sure where we were supposed to stand as we had crossed the moat which we initially thought was the water in all the photos. We then realised the water in the photos was ...

      ... I couldn't find my visa anyway.

Thanks to Samantha's perserverence at Melbourne ( which got all my luggage on with no $300 excess charge) , this little piggy has way too much luggage, and Allison has none.

up shot is luggage is now meandering across on another flight, we are getting up at 4 am to be on tomorrows flight early morn .. and back on track we hope to Bhutan.
