    ... to keep pedalling. One old chap called out "Give us a lift?" And a couple of cyclists who'd obviously been watching us puffing away applauded when we reached the top! Quite an experience!
    Chris went and bought some sandwiches etc for later while I sat and watched the bikes and recovered. We cycled on road through East Grinstead and arrived at the station where the cycle path started again, only to discover steps to go up. Nothing like the steps ...

    ... seems he fell victim to hooliganry. At that point the motivation to switch locations was lost, as Brandon tried to convince the bartender to check the CCTV, to no avail. Instead we lingered on with Neil's friends until the pub closed, at which point someone suggested a late night bar nearby. We had one more drink at King's Head before taking a black cab home for the evening.
