... we were there. This would have been an event to behold at the best of times, however it was even more raucous due to the fact that days earlier the USA had legalised gay marriage in all states. When we got off the metro onto Powell Street, it was like walking into one of John Lennon’s dreams, with psychedelic colours bouncing around as far as the eye could see. ... we did have cloudy weather though) - loads of choices of food to eat - people are really nice - women Cons - Expensive! Even a bottle of water is a few quid, crazy! - LA is massive and the public transport takes forever to get across - lot of hobos and weirdos roaming the streets and public transport, you can feel uneasy at times. - there isn't a great deal of things to do for more than a few days Photos: Los Angeles ...

... Carne on American soil as it were.

When we exited the Customs Hall we came out into what appeared like a pit where we were starred upon from above by those waiting for family and friends.

All in all it was only a quick stopover of three hours. Time for a drink, some snacks, change money and go to a normal toilet.

    LA & Hollywood

Today we did a Hop On, Hop Off bus tour & it certainly allowed us to see all the sides of LA - good & bad.

We boarded near our Hotel which is close to Hollywood Boulevard. This took us through some swish areas like Rodeo Drive & Beverley Hills but the best part was hopping off at Santa Monica & walking along the pier, having lunch then walking to Venice Beach.
