... with the shanty towns this was very eye opening. To end our day we headed back to the hotel and headed to dinner in the backpacker area of Jakarta! For dinner I had chicken teriyaki - yummy! Adam went to play it safe with sweat and sour chicken, there ended up being very hot green chillies in the sauce- hot hot hot!! Off to bed now as leaving at 7am to go to a tea plantation, in a town further south in Indonesia! Love you Amy ...

... to go from the airport which seems totally mad to me but the theme of this journey has always been 'nothing surprises you' everytime me and Kirsty say the word surely at the end of a sentence we look at eachother and remember that nothing should surprise us, nothing is logical, expect the illogical and to not be surprised if your wrong. ... ago and after lots of arguing and some phone calls advised that the there's no way I would be let through and the only thing they can recommend is for me to go to the service desk and book another flight for tomorrow morning. I was absolutely devastated, in fact I was sitting on the airport floor with all my bags sobbing my heart out crying like a baby! The mixture of emotions was too much to handle. ... So, it seems that you do not have to be beautiful to be photographed. You just need to be in the right place at the right time................often!!!

... We aren’t entirely sure why, perhaps it was high tide, but there was 30-50cm of water over a km or so of road just before we reached the shopping center! The water didn’t seem to faze people though; motor bikes & cars of all sizes just drove straight on through it.

The shopping center was a very crowded, smelly & run down multi-storey building with lots of cheap clothes, shoes & weird ...
