... returning here would feel like returning to civilisation. But compared to where we have just been, thats exactly what it feels like. Fully aware of what the traffic is like in this city we had arranged to stay relatively near the airport as the following day we would flying out to Hanoi, Vietnam via Singapore.

A guy in a Sergeant Pepper's style yellow suit was waiting outside the airport with a board spelling out Ashleigh's name. He was from our hotel, the FM7. ...

... first time as well as dumplings. Some sushi was delicious, others were not at all my thing. That evening I made dinner for the family consisting of home made burgers and potato wedges as well as a huge salad. Sadly the burgers were not my best, but the wedges were delicious, I just wished I had my chippy brown sauce to complete the picture... ... the airport in Padang (2 hours south of Bikittinggi) with no ticket and bought one on the spot. Our flight left at 20h40 so we had to spend the afternoon in this tiny airport with very little entertainment but a slow wifi connection. We arrived in Jakarta really late because our flight was delayed one hour (nothing is never on time in this country) so we had to sleep in the airport as there was no public transport left to reach the city and without a hotel reservation ...
