... Billy' on it complete with a candle for every decade.

After dinner we had to hightail it from the Venetian down to the MGM Grand to have our minds blown by David Copperfield. It was an amazing show and some of the **** he did was so incredible. Billy and I are sure he is an alien... there is no other explanation!! From there we did a lot of drinking and some gambling at the ***** table, which was fun but 'momma did not get a new pair ...

      A Quieter Day

After the excitement of the World Cup weekend we needed a quieter day to recharge our batteries. So a sleep in was in order and very much enjoyed. It was another beautiful sunny day so we spent the afternoon exploring the streets of Aspen which originally was an old silver mining town in the 1890s. It was reborn as a skitown in the 1940s and has maintained its popularity as a ski tourist mecca ever since. It is certainly recognised all ...

Once again it was a day for the Austrians. The very parochial American crowd desperately wanted local girl Michaela Shriffrin to win and although leading after the first run, her 2nd run was rather scratchy and she finished 5th. Nikki Hosp absolutely nailed the course and scored her first World Cup victory since 2008. She was one happy girl. Our Swedish ...

      ... Christmas Tree Lighting
That evening we went the the St Regis for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting. It is quite a spectacle. Carol singing, Champagne bottle opening with a Sabre (very dramatic) and of course a huge, superbly decorated and well lit tree. The star of the evening was Santa's arrival and the many children there waited patiently in line to speak to the jolly man. Obligatory family photos were ...

      USA Team Signing Party
In the evening there was the USA team signing and all the US team stars were there. Michaela Schiffrin, Julia Mancuso and others. After this was the World Cup Bib draw for the top 15 skiers for the Giant Slalom the following day. What an atmosphere! We enjoyed a few beverages and celebrated (somewhat prematurely) the following days activities. Roll on World Cup!!
