Theme for the day: Everyone calm down!! It was epic just to get on the road today. Most of the packing was done last night and we just had to load this morning. Yeah, things are never that simple. We got a super long lie in this morning as we weren't leaving until 9:30am! So I got up at 8:30 had a shower then we hit the road. ... for your business on the main drag. I also happened on a real gold pan - just in case for future use. We were lucky to make the acquaintance with the owners of Aska Lodge, a premier bed-and-breakfast just outside of town. Words cannot describe our stay so check out the photos.

Lasting memories: curvy drives along mountain sides, downed forests due to ice, hiking trails with surprises around every corner, good food and a private tub in our log cabin.

... the Blue Ridge railway line. Our choice was the #1 B&B on most travel sites: Aska Lodge. The owners, Ric and Janet deserve the accolades as Aska Lodge lives up to it's reputation. Terrycloth robes, bamboo linen, specialist breakfasts and incredible hosts made it an unforgettable experience.

And so we headed back, filled with fresh mountain air, southern hospitality and life long friends from as far as Germany. All in a week. ...
