... the Canadian Support Unit in Geilenkirchen. Dan and I served together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia back in the mid-90s.

... a mile or so into the small, but perfectly formed Dutch town centre, dominated by a huge church. A pleasant interlude indeed. Mundane jobs this morning, we did the washing! Then off to Els's place for Tante Tinys party.
Went for a drive to a 45 ha dairy farm, owner was on going couple (next generation - Dad still helps 7 days a week), Willem & Linda, they have 160 cows housed in a milking parlor with 3 milking robots (linked to his hone for issues), his she'd cost €5,000 per cow. They also have 40 dry/young stock in other sheds.
Collected Mum & off to Bakel, dropped Mum by Lies de Corte. Lies sill lives on the family pig farm now run by two sons, this is now in the process of moving onto the next generation, they have 650 breeding sows (sell most of the piglets) & 2,000 other pigs.
