    ... the Canadian Support Unit in Geilenkirchen. Dan and I served together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia back in the mid-90s.

    Our next blog will feature some photos around their little town of Gilrath and of the Roach family.
    Apparently we can even FT from their home so once I post this blog, I may try a quick FT with some folks.

    Take care and by the way, they do have Indian summers in Europe too - amazing weather - high teens and going to 18C tomorrow. Stay warm!!!

    ... a mile or so into the small, but perfectly formed Dutch town centre, dominated by a huge church. A pleasant interlude indeed. No cakes or ice creams, though both were available, but we found a hole-in-the-wall for some gelt, and sat outside to enjoy a couple of trappist beers, working up from seven to ten percent (hic) alcohol.     Mundane jobs this morning, we did the washing! Then off to Els's place for Tante Tinys party.

    Went for a drive to a 45 ha dairy farm, owner was on going couple (next generation - Dad still helps 7 days a week), Willem & Linda, they have 160 cows housed in a milking parlor with 3 milking robots (linked to his hone for issues), his she'd cost €5,000 per cow. They also have 40 dry/young stock in other sheds.

    Collected Mum & off to Bakel, dropped Mum by Lies de Corte. Lies sill lives on the family pig farm now run by two sons, this is now in the process of moving onto the next generation, they have 650 breeding sows (sell most of the piglets) & 2,000 other pigs.     Picked Mum & Tyler up then went for a drive set the gps but stated no highways so ended up driving round some amazing small towns & beautiful scenery, even found some hills (yes still in Netherlands), past St Petrus windmill, took photos it's a different shape, onto Thorn an amazing white village, took lots for photos, we were going to stay for lunch but then 4 bus ...
