The ride through Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska and Iowa was fascinating. Dramatic scenery, mountains and cliffs of every description, changing slowly from desert crags to lush farmland.

Did I really want to see Chicago?

A travel blog entry by abagworth on Aug 29, 2014

      ... thank goodness.

After about two hours in searing heat we get out of Chicago and we stop. I get off the bike and nearly fainted, I was suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Two bottles of water and about 10 minutes later I was OK again.

Good to visit Chicago but not like that!

Another 100 miles and getting to the hotel, having a shower and then a couple of beers was very welcome indeed!!
