    ... cottage I rented in Vermont is owned by a couple of artists (painter and sculptor) and they've built their own little slice of heaven up on top of a hill overlooking the Passumpic River valley. They have 40+ acres and they built the studio cottage I rented, plus a house for themselves and a carpentry studio.     ... crepes (Lamb Merguez sausage...yum).

    Cate and I then took our combined 3 dogs (Stormy, Cinnamon and Addie) for a beautiful hike in a local conservation area. Stormy, the fierce Chihuahua, did his level best to put Addie in her place, attempts which were mostly ignored. A good time was had by all.

    Tomorrow I visit WEBS, the yarn mecca in this neck of the woods, then we head east and south towards Mystic, CT.

    After the great exercise, Brian decided to make homemade pasta. Tony and Michelle had a pasta maker and Brian showed them his technique for making pasta from scratch in a very short amount of time. We made two types of sauce: a tomato based sauce and a pesto. Both were delicious.

    Looking at the pictures I took, I wish I had taken one of David! =(

    ... art on the seed packets. We were also able to see some of the old equipment used to separate the seeds from plants. Amazing how they did it back then. The manager, Irina, was such a sweetheart letting us roam the old building and look in wonder.They have done a wonderful job of incorporating some antiques and other items in with the seeds to make a very appealing store. We picked up some ideas for flowers for next year and then were on ...
