... be warm and I could get something to eat. I arrived at the airport about 5.00pm so 3 hours early and walked about getting a few bits as gifts for family and had a coffee and cake, it was a very long wait but at least I was warm and dry. There is an observation deck at the airport so I went to do some plane spotting, well I had my anorak on so fit in well, it was really good actually watching the planes take off and land, the smell of aircraft fuel is something ...

... of workers in one of the busiest harbours in the world. Four huge lifts on either side of the tunnel carried pedestrians, carriages and motor vehicles to the bottom. They are still in operation, though due to the limited capacity by today's standards, other bridges and tunnels have been built and taken over most of the traffic. It was an unexpected treat and at no cost was even more attractive, once at the other side there is not much to do and seems like a bit of a dead ...

... 30 to have an early breakfast and go to the fish markets (which is pretty famous in Hamburg). We stumbled across a mini Oktoberfest, which looked like it was just finishing from the night before. We contemplated having a beer in true Oktoberfest fashion but couldn't handle it cause we were still pretty ******. We also walked past a run-down building where people were waving to us from the window and still dancing at like 10:30 in the morning. I think they were pretty drug ******. ...

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow is the day. My adventure is about to start.
3.30 pm my plane takes off in Hamburg, Germany.

I am so excited. After a week of making arrangements, fighting with insurance companies, packing all my stuff and saying goodbye to everyone I am finally ready for take off.
I will try to write here as often as possible to share my impressions, experiences and feelings with you all. I am looking forward to your comments and messages.
