... since September and won't reopen until May so the tour groups had to get there crystal fix at the store in Innsbruck. It is really quite a large store with some magnificent pieces.
Innsbruck looks so different with the market. I completely missed the Golden Roof the first day we were walking around. It changes the context of the square so much.
We we really enjoyed our stay in Innsbruck and now we are off to Salzburg.
We drove from Lindau to Innsbruck. It is about a 2 hour drive without stops on mostly 4 lane road and good highways. We already had out Austrian Road sticker. We got that when we went to Lichtenstein.
Driving through the Alps is not like driving through the mountains in western Canada. The Germans and Austrians don't believe in going around a mountain if you can go through it. We figure 1/4 of our trip was in tunnels!

Our lunch stop was at an enormous service centre. There were loads of trucks parked there because in Europe, truckies are not allowed to be on the road between 10:00pm Saturday night and 10:00pm Sunday night. So they ...
