      If it had not been for our dear friend, Lisa Bradley, we might have overlooked this little hidden gem. Ouray is or was a box canyon before they constructed Rte 550 over the mountain. The north end of the canyon coming from Ridgway was the only way in and out without going over a mountain. And the falls are at the south end. Among the photos ...

      ... just filled the areas around the stream. As we climbed higher and higher, the flowers changed, and we started seeing more and more small alpine flowers. There were also so many beautiful landscape views of all the high mountains around us and across the valley. The best part of this road was the time when I got to drive the jeep!!
