      We left the city that never sleeps while it was sleeping. Yep, there's about 20 mins between 4.45 and 5.05am on Tuesdays when all except Aussie tourists and limo drivers are awake. We met a tremendous individual named Loren who was responsible for restoring and preserving these old ghost towns surrounding Silverton. He was an endless source of history.       If it had not been for our dear friend, Lisa Bradley, we might have overlooked this little hidden gem. Ouray is or was a box canyon before they constructed Rte 550 over the mountain. The north end of the canyon coming from Ridgway was the only way in and out without going over a mountain. And the falls are at the south end. Among the photos ...
