We left the city that never sleeps while it was sleeping. Yep, there's about 20 mins between 4.45 and 5.05am on Tuesdays when all except Aussie tourists and limo drivers are awake. If it had not been for our dear friend, Lisa Bradley, we might have overlooked this little hidden gem. Ouray is or was a box canyon before they constructed Rte 550 over the mountain. ... just filled the areas around the stream. As we climbed higher and higher, the flowers changed, and we started seeing more and more small alpine flowers.
