Love it here in Passau. Our last stop in Germany. Our guide who was French told us that Hitler fell in the river here as a young child and someone saved him. Pity. The old town is beautiful. They have a problem with flooding as they are on a peninsula with 3 rivers. The Danube, the Inn and the Iltz. A lot of the buildings have had to have all the plaster removed and replaced to second floor ...

The city's golden age, 11th to 14th centuries, saw the building of the medieval buildings which suffered no war damage because the city had been in economic decline from the Middle Ages through to WW2 and had no industrial infrastructure requiring destruction by the Allies. The post war reconstruction ...

... is going to cycle with the American people again. Dinner was very good again. After dinner we booked our excursion package. We're doing them all and the total price was 129 euro (10 euro discount as a package). Very happy with that and we should see a reasonable bit of the cities we visit. The boat travelled all night tonight and went through quite a few locks. What a fabulous invention they are. Very ...
