    A view to die for

A must have is a Coral Sea view apartment, definately worth the extra fee. Our apartment was very spacious and comfortable, even though our children had to sleep on sofas in lounge. Some of the external corridors are looking tired. The staff were friendly and helpful. Beach towels provided from Reception. Many different pools spread over complex. Free island buses are very regular from Reception. Must do sunset at One Tree Hill..

Another beautiful morning which Andy appreciated while Emily continued to doze for a further hour. When she finally emerged we headed out to have breakfast with the koalas. There is a wildlife park (that may be a tad generous) a short walk from the apartment and the do a breakfast buffet while the koalas sit on eucalypt branches around the room and …

Friday on Hamo! We had booked ourselves on 'Reef Ryder' a day tour seeing the big sites of the Whitsunday's along with some snorkelling on the reefs. We left the harbour at 9.30 and by 10.30 we had reached Tongue Point where we 'bush walked' up to a viewpoint to see the Hill Inlet (used in many pictures advertising the islands), Whitehaven beach, …

    Snorkelling (Take 1)

A travel blog entry by andynemz on Nov 14, 2013

Our first full day on 'Hamo' we decided to get some beach time! We initially wanted to do some paddle boarding but this idea was squandered by the amount of others with the same idea (grr!)– in the end we hired some snorkels, masks and fins to both practice and get to see the local reefs in the bay. Andy was a complete novice so Emily taught …

    Busses, Trains, Boats etc

A travel blog entry by andynemz on Nov 13, 2013

We woke at a good hour headed down for breakfast as we didn't know when we would eat again – we then finished packing and checked out. We were slightly confused initially by the transfer situation, apparently we had to go first to Brisbane airport and then onto Brisbane train station by a separate bus, slightly stressful as no one had …

Arrived 17th August from Brisbane Once again Laura dropped me back to the airport, its now Saturday, where I caught my flight to Hamilton Island to meet up with Bernie Latimer and all the Star Ferry gang. Let the sailing and party time commence. I caught the shuttle from the airport to the Whitsunday apartment east block where Bernie and her fella …
