... of diversity and beauty and peace. Driving along, things whiz by and I understand that with no connection to the creation comes no understanding of it and little care about it follows. We have two feet but how little we use them, yet when we do what beautiful places we can go to, what wonderful people we can meet and what peace we can find. Looking out on a view so pretty it makes you silent and awestruck and in the vast space on a mountain, ...

... into the sea. With a feeling of incredible satisfaction and accomplishment we walked a few metres to the Bay Hotel for a drink. There is a guestbook inside the Wainwright bar which coasters can sign. This we did before heading back up the hill to our B&B. Hard to believe we have finished. We have stayed at far warmer ...

We had a leisurely 15 km walk today. Conditions were cloudy to begin with but brightened over the morning as the cloud broke up into beautiful balls of cotton. We started with a climb up Round Hill, the penultimate C2C climb. Once we reached the summit we again had beautiful views across to the east and back at yesterday's path over the 3 hills. The rest of the walk was along an easy plateau. Since entering the North Yorkshire Moors the the quality of the paths ...

Osmotherley to Chop Gate

We had a lovely meal last night at the Golden Lion and rested comfortably overnight. I discovered that I have a drug dependence. Sad at 50 but there you have it. For the past 48 hours my feet have been burning and throbbing. The constant trauma to the soft tissues over so many kilometres has taken a toll. Stopping the antiinflammatories was the issue so I restarted them last night and it made all the ...
