Tuesday, September 8th
Bit of a late start as we had decided to have an easy day. Drove to North Allerton which is not far from Thirsk. Didn't look much on the map, but as usual towns are all bigger than expected. ... we both commented it was the quintessential British seaside location for Brits in summer, particularly before cheap airfares and they discovered Spain! We are both enjoying all the British TV including, heartbeat, the royal, doc Martin etc. it's nice especially since I've watched nothing for over a month because the Italian TV was all in......Italian!!! I couldn't find any so I went and asked if there was any way to get an earlier bus and the guy said they were all booked but to ask the staff at the gates if they can fit me on so I went and asked another man and he said the next one wasn't until 5pm (it was 4.10pm) but to come and see him when it was boarding and if anyone hadn't shown up they would fit me on. ... characters, it was supposed to be a bit humorous but towards the end of it the actors couldn't contain their laughter and there was a lot of improvising! Apparently the show usually only goes for an hour and we had seen the most original version! We had some noisy kids in the audience which kept distracting the actors so they would have to speak to them and act like it was part of the play.
