... which has a dredged area for visitors but the outer harbour dries leaving boats standing on the mud - very quaint some of them ( see pic). Met our neighbours on the pontoon and were invited for drinks - 40 ft Hanse with every gadget out- apparently the boat can be sailed from ashore using the remote control! Although the facilities left a bit to be desired we all decided this was one of the better stops - and Pete even got a decent Cappuccino -alongside a large bacon ...

Today has been overcast and drizzly rain throughout. We have walked extensively around the town ,booked our tickets on the train to Pickering and back ,and walked to Pannett Park and visited the Whitby museum and Art Gallery.
