... the office we go for the third time and Bud and I notice that there are a couple of portable pizza ovens in the office. You would think when I originally ask about pizza delivery, that if you can sell me 2 pizzas and make money; you would tell me instead of giving a tired cyclist a number to nowhere!!! Let them eat pie...we did. We also found the laundromat for our nightly entertainment! Total miles for today...47.46 Till ...
... to see our surroundings by daylight. Morning arrived and so did the views! The cabin was on a lake called Big Sand, surrounded by a nature reserve of trees and wildlife. I couldn't imagine a nicer view to wake up to. We headed to the local store to by what would be our staple meal for the next view days, broccoli, cheese, eggs and sausages. Despite having all the facilities you could ever need inside the cabin, we still chose to cook over the open fire pit for authenticity. ...
... on a Saturday...and he backed up all over the place....beep, beep, beep.... We are both really tired today so may have to stop at some point for a snooze... The day improved once we stopped to take a picture of Paul Bunyan in Akeley...there, a lady told us that just down the road in Nevis, there was a giant Muskie that we should see...so we did...and lo and behold...the whole town of Nevis was having a giant garage/rummage/flea ...
This was almost a 500 mile "Day Trip" but it was a beautiful drive, especially since they had a good snow fall last night!! Plus we needed a distraction today after the kids left!!
... from a farmer's yard, we stopped. We found some fresh steelhead at Costco, (of course, it was enough for several meals.) and bought it for dinner. John cooked it on our little grill and the whole meal was delicious. After dinner, we walked down to Edna Lake at the Nisswa Resort to watch the sunset. It is still warm in the evenings in the Midwest, which makes them quite pleasant.
