    ... it again. As Mark and I make plans for our first short trip to Europe together, I'll take a break from this "Unexpected Journey" blog. Traveling is one of the things that brings me joy and light. I hope to share that joy in a more traditional Travelpod blog that is once again about travel!

    ... gotten so far up - the water level is much higher at this time for some reason. We played around a bit - I tried to go up the creek but didn't want to risk capsizing since it was still a bit chilly. I didn't mind the cool water on my quick-drying pants but still didn't want to get totally wet...or have an accident.

    ... to go. The GPS could not locate Saranac Lake from here so I took out my road map and discovered I was taking the scenic route - a big S that took me west before going east from Tupper Lake to Saranac Lake. I finally made it to Otto's around 5 pm.

    We checked out of our hotel and went on a boat tour of Lake Placid. We enjoyed seeing the many "camps" along the lake -many with only boat access.     We took advantage of the beautiful sunny day and spent most of the day climbing to various elevations. First, we went to the Olympic Ski arena. We took the ski lift to the top and had a beautiful view of the surrounding areas. We also saw skiers practicing on a plastic grass like hill. We also saw freestyle skiers.
