... a gradient of 25%. Both these hills were very narrow with just enough room for two cars. We continued on and eventually found our hotel,after wending our way round Ilfracombe. Travelled through the Dartmoor National Park, where the animals mainly are Scotch black faced sheep and Dartmoor Ponies which have right of way. There are many tors in this area. Stopped for a drink at the Dartmoor Inn, which is three hundred years old. There is a quarry behind the Inn and the material for a memorial to the Falklands War was sourced from here.

... and would have gone on if Robin had his way. I suggested that we take a, slightly more sheltered route although not so picturesque way, along the road. I was so glad to have my Arab scarf which I wrapped round my head. The wind was blowing in one ear and almost out the other !
