... felt like forever but was only 2 miles and 10 minutes but I think i got a lot greyer!! Once we were there it was amazing. So beautiful and a great lesson for Shira who learned about it this year at school. The grounds were incredible!!! We then journeyed back towards our hotel and had dinner in Exeter. ... surprises literally around every bend.
We discovered the ancient remains of the Roman city wall, churches, and beautfully restored buidings, a charming Devon village.
We fully realised we were on our holiday when we walked down to the quay and enjoyed a Cornish lager and local cider, chilling out watching the white swans on the River Exe.
We topped of our day with a lovely supper of local produce at Bill's.

... used to again. I am of course driving since we are on the wrong side of the road!!! We arrived at our visit hotel in the village of Topsham just outside Exeter. It is the cutest little fishing and port town. Our hotel is above the pub, restaurant and it is great. We spent some time this evening walking around the village. A great first day together.
