Hangzhou

I have finally reached Hangzhou. As the capital of the mighty Song Dynasty this city is the most advanced and splendid in the world. The city itself is very large, I would say nearly one hundred miles. Hangzhou is very different than any other city I have seen on the Silk Road because it is far larger and more advanced. The city has thousands of stone bridges as well as thousands of baths. Many other cities have baths ...

My questions were about the role of gender in the home and Julie had questions about the gender gap issue. We walked to Zhejiang University, about 5 minutes away from our hotel, to talk to younger people. Zhejiang is a very pretty campus with tree lined roads and a few buildings with ivy as well as a giant Mao statue. A graduation had just taken ...

Ni Hao!

Well, I finally made it to Hangzhou. The flight from Beijing was probably the longest thing I have ever endured but it is worth it. I realized about 30 minutes into my flight that my laptop was almost dead and guess what? I forgot my charger in CANADA! My Ipod died about 5 hours into the flight so all I had left was the airline selection which wasn't great at all. 2 days into my trip I finally struck luck and found a charger ...
