    ... We'd read about a scenic route that followed the south shore of Lake Ontario the full length of New York, called the Sea Trail Way, so we found the point closest to Rochester and drove east for about 30 miles. Very beautiful drive, although you could only see the lake for about half of it.

    ... this past weekend, which is fine with us. We prefer to avoid large crowds and full marinas. This dock is not FREE, however. They charge a whopping $9 per day!

    Towns along the canal seem to like to paint murals on things. See the photos at the bottom for some examples in Lyons and Fairport. The Fairport Bridge had what we considered the best.
