      ... Max enjoyed meeting Doug and spending time with him too. Then later we met Joshua, one of their children who lives nearby, and friends visiting from Michigan who arrived over a day after us. Joshua was very thoughtful and volunteered to do all of the Thanksgiving shopping for his mom on the night we arrived.       ... the road. Traffic was terrible p, so it took an hour to get back, and then we pretty much made our way out of the city and onwards west. We drove until about 8ish and then we stopped at a KOA in a small place called Lena.       ... the family were out-of-towners. My sis Jan (Andy's godmother) and her husband flew in from Simi Valley, California. Uncle Don, Andy's godfather drove up from Ocala, Florida. Andy's Aunts and Uncles and cousins drove up from Chicago. Most of the family made it, sorry everyone couldn't be there.

      We couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect and everything went as planned with no problems.

      Crossing the Ohio River brought us to the southern tip of Illinois. Within the first two hours of roaming the forested regions of our own state we encountered seven cars along the side of the interstate held temporary hostage by flashing red and blue lights.
