Sandpoint, Idaho, United States toddandshell... new challenge for me - wish me more than luck - PRAY! We will head for Oregon first to visit our sisters. My sister Myrna is in Salem and Dix's sister Jean is in Grants Pass. Then we will head south on I 5. You are all invited to travel with us and share our joys and probably some trials as we make our way to Arizona and Texas. We hope to see a lot of great country and will share our pics with you.
Sandpoint, Idaho, United States dixsan... we arrived so we went for a quick bike ride. We saw lots of deer and picked out seven Rocky Mountain goats in the bluffs above the lake. That was all we saw of Farragut as we headed off early the next morning towards Canada.
Farragut state park, Idaho, United States mcginlays... on this side was as extensive as the volcano blast was directed west and north. The ride came to a premature end though and the road was blocked off after only 4 miles. Apparently the heavy snowfall completely washed the road away. We made our way through to Coeur d'Alene were we had planned on spending the night - they have firewords on the lake, so we thought it would be a great way to spend the birthdays girls birthday! Sandpoint, Idaho, United States judencharlie... motion. a little bit of wind at your front or back makes an enormous difference... a light wind can help push you forward or backward by up to 3 mph or so. therefore, pushing into a headwind over a long period of time is tiring and annoying. plus, it's noisy with the wind in your ears and you can't hear the cars coming up behind as well. not fun! well, to combat the headwind, we started to be a little naughty... although we signed papers saying we wouldn't ...

It felt like you were about to fall out of your seat into the lap of the person opposite you which for me was one of the unfortunate visitors who joined us (and was much smaller then me). We all were able to hang on till the end with no crashes or injuries. Once we had dried off we jumped back in the car and drove the 4 hours back across the border to Fernie, Canada hence spending just over 24 hrs in the USA. Mick
