This is a small hillock in the south of Nanjing where legend has it that an young monk named Yunguang started preaching and raindrops fell from the heavens and rested as agate stones on the ground.

It later became an execution ground for the Nationalists when Nanjing became their capital in 1927 and it is alleged that 100,000 communists, intellectuals and peasants were murdered here by the Kuomintang.

This was a fantastic day – I carried more money than I thought I ...

There were 2 families at the table who had been given only a few weeks to relocate, and housing in ML is in high demand at the moment. I hope our landlord does NOT want to sell anytime in the near future.

I am continuing with Chinese lesson twice a week, and am really enjoying them. Although my teacher ...

Last weekend we stayed home so I could continue unpacking. I had a mini breakdown on Saturday when I discovered a glitter explosion in a box full of miniature toys eg Polly pocket, little pet shop, Barbie etc. Each item needed to be cleaned individually as I unpacked them (whilst trying to stop glitter spreading around the house). Extremely frustrating! The Wharton kids kept mine amused while I unpacked. We went out ...
