    Cheap stay for the area

The hostel is simple but clean. Rooms are spacious and have a very good hot shower. The airco is silent and effective. There is also a little restaurant that is sometimes open and there is a pizza place across the street.

The area is perfect if you want to do some shopping in BKK because it is across the street from the MBK and next to the Skytrain

A staff member comes and unfolds the two seats which makes the bottom bunk. Then the top bunk is pulled down from the ceiling and the bedding is stored ...

... glad we only had to stay a couple of nights. Vientiane itself was very small for a capital city, it didn't feel like there was really a central area. There wasn't as much life about as in other parts of South East Asia. Saying that we did find some nice cafes and bakeries. It felt like there was much more French influence remaining here than there was in Cambodia and definitely more French tourists although the locals seemed to be avid Man United fans. The Thais seemed to swing ...

... people don't lie when they say when it rains here it's like a Monsoon and holy hell it was nuts! We had to climb about 300 stairs (felt like more) to get to the top of the temple fighting off the river of water that was flowing down the steps which put me in a bad mood within the first 2 minutes as my new vans are wrecked cos numbnut Emma said if you wear flip flops and show your feet in the temples the monks will think your ...
