    Cheap stay for the area

The hostel is simple but clean. Rooms are spacious and have a very good hot shower. The airco is silent and effective. There is also a little restaurant that is sometimes open and there is a pizza place across the street.

The area is perfect if you want to do some shopping in BKK because it is across the street from the MBK and next to the Skytrain

We took a ferry back over to the other side of the river and went to Wat Pha, or the temple of the reclining Buddha. 46 meters long, 15 meters high, this Buddha statue had gold leafing and was amazing. A lot of tourists were packed in there, though. It was extremely crowded. I overheard a Japanese couple in line and ...

The railway started in Burma and in Thailand, and the two tracks were to meet in Thailand at the bridge, but the two sets of rails were off by a kilometer and didn't meet up. Senior engineers were killed in a plane crash, and in their place a team of inexperienced engineers were conscripted to make the final project work - thus the poorly laid plans that caused the two segments ...
