We tend to spend a fair bit of time planning for them but something invariably goes wrong. Today we found out we hadn't booked the hire car! We had decided that the easiest way to get a hire car for this trip was to get one from Heathrow. It is easier to drive around to get out of London than the city. Mr S woke and went looking for the reservation and just couldn't find it - ...

... the woods, let me know as I'd gladly show this remote part of the Treachorous Principality. Abergwesyn Mountain range is still an awesome place to drive through and is one of those places that is impassable in the Winter. One section is called the Devil's Staircase and deserves the name. I cycled this road a few years back from Brecon to Tregaron and I wont be doing it again. It took me 10 hours and for every mountain I rode down, there were two to ...

... Arlene, Carol and Rhe had regularly frequented near Aberystwyth Castle is now - closed. :(

As we face west, we had the sun right until sunset and a great view of the beach from our room. Great for people watching and listening to waves all night. All these people wandering down the promenade following our footsteps to - yes, Arlene knows - KICK THE BAR in true local fashion. The people of Aberystwyth did a great job restoring the waterfront walkway and ...
