It was strange I had come to Hinase believing that I was going to stay for one week max. I am now leaving after almost a month here! It was hard to bring myself to leave, the hosts were great, the food was amazing, the scenery stunning, the work easy and the other WWOOFers were just great fun. So the day after going to Onomichi Makoto tells us we are going to his parents house in kyoto, I'm happy with that, good chance to see some authentic culture, what he forgot to tell us was that ...

... a lot of chess!) or just enjoying the view from the top of the house. Although there is not much organic farming to be done as I hoped, the work is very varied. The first day for instance was spent lifting some anchors out of the sea around the pier, and then boating into town to get a giant Argon canister for the carpenters. Tomorrow I will explore Hiroshima and in particular the peace memorial ...

... hard to find a rhythm in such surrounding, but well, that's how it is!
The 12 km long bride crossing from near Marugame is only open for the train and cars, bicycles have to ride further east to Takamatsu, to catch a ferry, which made my day a bit longer then expected.
After getting of the ferry in Tamano, another 30 km into the dark night had to be covered,to reach Hayashima, ...

... the pasta main but some of them were a bit too Japanese to be Italian - soy sauce and/or salmon roe in the mix somewhere. Overall, it was a very nice meal.

We went back to the hotel at about 7.30pm for more laundry and downloaded more photos from today, as well as to write this blog.

We leave for Kyoto tomorrow morning at 8.45am. Bags in the foyer at 8.20am so that the taxis can take them to the station for us. No point wrecking the wheels on my bag.
