... way from Kukup Golf Resort to Tebrau City, we were stopped at Perling Toll to pay RM2.30. Tebrau City is a mega mall which we frequent! After dinner around 10pm then we headed home via the woodlands checkpoint and was caught in a 2 hours jam from JB to Woodlands checkpoints! That day was the eve of a public holiday, guess everyone was going home at the same time! Overall, we don't think we would go Kukup again!
Johor, Malaysia sc_myinitial... 11) Shopping - $78.42 12) Others (Necessities) - $14.08 Total = $3011.37 *Above figure are not 100% accurate as there was difference is currency rates. Total expenses are based on two persons. Overall expenses is considered quite a lot, as shopping was not supposed to be done and some expenses on food was not necessary.
Singapore, Singapore divingaddict... Is he reading the paper?" Sure enough, I turned around to see a true Multi-tasker. I snapped a quick photo and we pulled up to the border. The customs went smoothly and before we knew it we found ourselves in Malaysia. The first thing you notice is the noise followed shortly by the smells. I thought to myself "We're not in Singapore anymore.....No This place seems more like.....uh.....well ...
Johor Bahru, Malaysia mikeandjess... was carried out successfully on the night of the full moon. Although I have never visited India, I feel that I have touched on it's culture by visiting Little India and by 'living' in Singapore this last week. I have eaten somasas; biryani and bean curd doughnuts with chilli sauce. Not to mention, satay chicken which is a national dish for Singapore. Doug and I visited the Zoo and Night safari on Monday. It turned out to be a fun day. I was pleasantly surprised by ...
Singapore, Malaysia alikat... One of them Dakota states! The people there would be much more interested in the Japanese then the ticket taker at "The Magic Kingdom!" Everyone wanted to practice what ever little English they had with me not to mention if they had a camera they wanted to take a picture. I honestly posed with at least 30 little Muslium girls so they could take a picture with me? "The Incredible Edible Egg" is a proud sponsor of the 2006 "Johnny Nomad Experiment." Just add water -Johnny Nomad
Singapore, Singapore johnnynomad... but am well sick of James '24/7 only CD we've got' Blunt! Lovely place and people but need to invest in a few more CDs. Tash had a riding lesson on the Friday and Saturday while I was to play a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. The course was sweet and at 115 ringgit (approx 45 AUD) for lunch, round of golf, cart and caddy, an absolute bargain. Unfortunately, being South East Asia it was pretty wet on ...
Johor, Malaysia gregandtash... Orchard road which is the shopping district. The shops are to die for anything and everything is available unfortunately due to my travelling budget I settled for a pair of sandals for 8 pounds and window shopping. Feeling thoroughly underdressed; all the women shop in heels and matching handbags posh spice style. SUNDAY 21st MAY 06 I managed to find a room in a hostel situated in little India and I spent the day investigating Little India and Little China and treated ...
Singapore, Malaysia lisastravel... on me what a fabulous place it was! No alcohol, no coffee, no cigarettes even! Everyone was gather together, mingling, eating fresh off the tree fruit! Try finding such a place so vibrant, so bustling, so busy on a Sunday night anywhere else in the world! I've never seen it anywhere! Go FRUIT! The night ended with me discovering mangosteens and eating about fifty thousand of them! Gen's mum and dad are champs - thanks!
Little India and Geylang, Singapore jingles... more work - and stretched and relieved tension in my legs and hips in a way that NO physio or massage therapist has known how to do! - and I was led back to the massage chair where the Oracle AND Apprentice stretched my arms while massaging the trouble spots! Slap on some secret herbs and spices, a super hot bandage and "boom!", I was cured! Hahaha... not quite, but boy was it one of the best massage/therapies I've ever had and a truely, uniquely Singaporean experience!
Haig Road, Singapore jinglesWe were not too sure how long the bus took from Singapore to Johor Bahru so when the bus stopped 20 mins after leaving Singapore and everyone started piling off we were a little bemused but like sheep we followed everyone else. We realised we were having to go through Malaysian Immigration on the Singapore side, we got through fine but at the other side it all went totally wrong. After clearing ...
