Great western trains was a joy at one stage as they have a fantastic first class waiting room at paddington once graced by royalty and thence after graced by me and my long pockets. It was amazing just how many packets of macadamia nuts (oooh expensive!), olives, fizzy drinks and at one point sandwiches fell into those long pockets. Sometimes I staggered onto the train. We arrived back home yesterday morning. Our journey was not the most direct route but dictated by our round the world flight ticket. We left Hanoi mid morning on Sunday & flew to Singapore. Our stopover was 6.5 hrs so we had pre-booked a room in the airport transit hotel. Trevor was delighted that our check in to the hotel coincided with the start of the Malaysian Grand Prix and he was able to watch the whole thing live on the TV in our room! Next ...
