As we travelled further north the countryside became more hilly and the villages looked more prosperous. Throughout the area there are some huge "old" factories dating back to communist times. Many are now obsolete and empty others are still in use.

... I take to sightseeing the following day. Exploring the some of the regions infamous Orthodox churches. Dating from the 15th and 16th centuries the monasteries are painted in descriptive motifs highlighting important tales from the bible and chronicling the saints and profits. The landscape dotted with so many it is hard to choose which ones to visit but by about the 4th or 5th they all start to look the same so choose wisely.

Long day just driving. We left the central section of Romania and are now up by the Moldova and Ukraine border. Drove thru the Carpathian Mountains, Bicaz Canyon to Lake Rosu.
