... of the Canadian Rockies. It is 230 K running from Banff to Jasper. We then picked up rte. 16 to get over to Hinton to our campsite. We got a site here as the only sites around Jasper where we had intended to stay were national campgrounds and when I called in March all the electric sites were taken.

These roads were spectacular with one scenic view leading to the next. Peg and I spent the entire day (this was a long trip 7.5 hours) saying "look over here" ...

... I backtracked to Hinton to a campsite. All the campsites are expensive here and some don't have showers and few internet. Obviously this one has.

This site is close to a road that states "Scenic route to Alaska " which Dave told me about so that is where I am heading tomorrow. Hope I sleep as is is chilly and I am typing this in the tent as it is now raining !! And I missed it so much !

Woke up this morning, got ready and packed up the car. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant finishing around 9.30. We got on the road around 11 and stopped to get fuel on our way out of Kamloops. We took the #5 Southern Yellowhead Highway through Barriere, Little Fort and on to Clearwater.

We stopped at the Clearwater Wells Gray Information Centre, but unfortunately it was closed. But they did have some signs which pointed us in the ...
