... t seem quite so long as we were returning from the bear hunt! Ian arrived from his ride home from work announcing there was a BEAR under the Magic Chair. We were quick to dress for outdoors to go and take in our first bear sighting. He (or she) had drawn quite a crowd. The bear didn't care, he was head down, grazing on the grass and completely ignored the clicking of the cameras. The bears are out of the dens a little earlier this spring ...

... is brutal. And by brutal I mean, it is so slow it is dead boring. I sit and drink coffee all day. Yes it's not a bad life, however when you have a job where you rely on tips, $9 an hour doesn't get you very far and neither does finishing early all the time because you are not needed. So in dead season spirit, I decided to bail on Whistler again and head to the island. I had only been back a week, but I've decided on one week on, 1 week off kind of roster. Our hands were aching from braking on the steep slopes so it was a bit of a relief to come out and then turn around and go up a 25 degree fire road - ...

Now that trip to the US was awesome and the weather was really nice, but the day after was really good too. We went all the way from Mission to Whistler and saw the Olympic rings. It is a very neat place with fun shops and lots of people. We even got some free stuff, chips and Monster, so the Dutch part of me was happy again ha ha. We bought a few things here and Margaret showed us the nicest shops. The rings ...

... st of Feb was good for another reason as it was my mother’s birthday and I spoke to her, before heading out to the mountains, to wish her a very happy birthday.

RACOONS! It is hard to see in the photos, as they were taken through a window in the dark, but we have new pets! Four of them to be precise! Ty, Jenny and I were sitting in the lounge watching a DVD and enjoying the log fire when we heard scratching at the front door. Ty went ...
