... Champlain. We parked up unbeknownst to us at a YMCA camp. The walk was beautiful as we trekked along the rocky shoreline of the lake, with the calm waters and green hills of New York State as the perfect backdrop. We didn't see much wildlife, only hundreds of dragonflies and ants the size of wasps. Afterwards we hit the road for the long drive down through Vermont, New York State and Massachusetts towards our hotel at Great Barrington. The road was ...

... filled from floor to ceiling with circus memorabilia and Dan had given us an old Ringling poster reprint last year.

The first thing you notice as you head toward Dalton and drive through the town: signs and posters everywhere advertising our show. Dan makes his own wooden signs that he puts up on every available street along with posters and signs pointing the way to the show and to parking. Every year ...

... my opinion so far). Also, smaller pack on the GS. I felt really good until about 650 miles. Now enjoying some Pasta Primavera mountain house in the hotel room with a titanium spork (there's a bear somewhere outside) and trying to rehydrate for tomorrow. Thinking that I have a particular skill for picking two points on a map, then linking up all the squiggles of roads to get from one place to the other. If I was going to superslab the whole thing, then why not just ...
