... right in the middle of the island. ... its free wifi to check emails as the hotel where we were staying only gave each of us 30 minutes of free wifi to be used within the first 24 hours of our three night stay there. Needless to say we were not impressed by that. Then back to the hotel. We stopped shortly before we got there to take a short walk to see a waterfall, the Tawhai Falls. They are on a pretty little river deep in a small wooded valley. Very different from the land around it which is a windswept plateau ...
Just a quick story today!
We were passing through a town somewhere on the road between Hamilton and Tongariro National Park. Running low on fuel, we (perhaps foolishly) decided to wait until the next town to
fuel-up. We drove for a while a never saw it. Either said town magically disappeared sometime between the making of the map we were using and our reading it, or the map we were using was ...
... spectacle. We did look odd in the wetsuits, I needed to change mine for a wider one, the down side was, it had longer limbs. I can't think of any similes but suffice to say not many people look good in a wetsuit. It was a nice calm sunny morning and the mountains glowed orange in the morning sun. I took a seasick pill just incase and while we bobbed around waiting to get a sight of the dolphins I was glad I did. The guides, or whatever they were called were very insistent ...
... and move on. Monday 30th December - Martinborough Top 10 Lovely people manage this site, Lisa comes from Colchester so that's a comfort! Frank, her husband is a kiwi. We moved to a flat site this morning. After a slow relaxing breakfast and catching up on the clothes washing we walked to one of the many micro wineries here. We chose Ata Rangi and sampled some lovely wine. I even drank C******nay which I haven't done since the 80's! All the wineries here ...
