The Magic family have been great, making us feel at home and showing us all the sites. On the 2nd of July we went with the wole family, along with some old family friends, to Gränna (pronounced Grenna). We have spent the last week visiting with family and friends in the part of Sweden where I was an exchange student so many years ago. We attended 2 birthday parties and a graduation party plus many hours of coffee, lunches and visits. It's amazing that after so many years the same closeness and feelings exist. ... Youth Day back home and I listened to Tom Peine give thanks and tribute to the students and teachers. He did a very nice job. He then gave a shocking announcement about the sudden death of one of our members Ron Fry who was going through radiation and chemotherapy. He died the day before. Sunday we will go sightseeing and see some interesting Swedish countryside and history.

Washingtonians go out of their way to avoid driving on ice. Not here in Sweden. Instead they hold events called 'Isracing' which involve racing motorcycles on a rink of ice at incredibly high speeds. Well, the speeds seemed high to me as a member of the audience about 15 feet from the ice with a portable fence and barrels of hay between me and the motorcycles.
