Hotel Palomar Los Angeles - Westwood - a Kimpton Hotel
Travel Blogs from Los Angeles
... refreshments, pillows and in-flight entertainment. I stupidly picked a bunch of sad movies and Glee episodes and had to remember I was in public to stop myself from crying too much.
The flight landed in LA an hour before it was expected to which was nice though it took forever to get through border security. The guy I got had obviously had a long day and was actually rather rude when asking me ...
... It was the most scared I have ever been in my life!! I never scream and by the end I screamed tat everything. There was Dracula first and they get so close to you but I was fine at this stage then other scary scary things jumped out at us. It wasn’t until we got to a section with chucky dolls (sarah look it up to show mum) there was about 4 of them in the room and obviously you are on edge by now!! Anyway im slowly walking through with Eliza holding onto ...
Girls very very excited for the big day at Universal Studios. Made our way out there with only a few Navman issues. Seriously, this Navman is on a bender and was causing us no end of cursing. No crowds to be seen and sort of had this place to ourself, so front of the line passes were irrelevant, but they did look pretty cool around our necks and made us feel important. If only we had them in Disney world!! Great family day out as we all did (even mum) the ...
... but I don't want to queue all day. What a great decision we were in the same car, one behind the other and on the ride in 10 mins max. Was pretty cool, though I don't know why they all go mad for it. Did a couple of other rides then ended round at California screaming now that is an Awesome rollercoaster. We did it once then got a fast pass for later.Did all of the rides we wanted saw the show Alladin, really good and watched the Pixar parade, then a couple more ...
Wow had a huge day today. Began early and hit the big bus - we love these - as they show you around a city, give you facts and info and show you places most would find difficult to find - and today was no exception. The other good thing is you can hop off and look at more if want - which we did. We saw and did so much today. Went into Beverley Hills, Hollywood and then Venice Beach. We saw the Hollywood sign, went down ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Palomar Los Angeles - Westwood - a Kimpton Hotel
This is a cool, well-appointed charming Kimpton property. Clean and very comfortable. But both the man at front desk and young woman that I made a reservation with over the phone (through hotel's website) were snooty and seemed put out. I didn't ask for anything unusual. Was disappointed by their tone and attitude- unexpected treatment by a fine hotel. Would not stay at this place again because of it- especially for the price being paid.
I just got back from a 2 night stay at the new Hotel Palomar Westwood. What a place. A good way to describe it would be an "upscale W". I've never dealt with a friendlier staff than at the Palomar. Every single person I encountered there was great. The rooms, furnishings, bathroom, etc, were all funky-modern-comfortable-perfect. I've never given a hotel an excellent/5 star rating, but they really deserve this.
Felt like Family
My company booked me at the Palomar. It just opened so I was a little reluctant to be one of the first guests. I loved it. the staff were smart, fun and made me feel like a family member. I think this is going to be one of LA'S best hotels. The fitness center was the awesome. I have told my company and peers at work to stay there. Great hotel and a good value.
Highly recommend Hotel Palomar
I don't usually do these reviews, but this hotel is an exception. This is by far my favorite hotel in LA. My best friend (I can't stay w/ her I'm allergic to her 2 cats) lives in Westwood and whenever I visit I usually stay at other hotels w/in the area, but she heard that this one just opened, so I gave it a shot and let me tell you it's amazing! Beautiful style w/ a relaxing feel. The staff is great! I have no complaints, if you are planning to stay at a hotel in LA, I strongly suggest checking this one out!
I can't even express how happy I was when I found out that Kimpton was opening up a Palomar in Los Angeles! I have stayed in many Kimptons across the country and Palomars are by far my favorite brand. It was no surprise to me that this brand new hotel Palomar exceeded all of my expectations. Everyone was so warm and friendly, every time I had an encounter with a staff member they were always smiling and providing assistance.
My wife and I chose the Palomar as we are familiar with Kimpton Hotels. It certainly held up the reputation. The staff was outstanding. They greeted us with a smile and gave us their undivided attention, whether it was the Doorman or the Housekeeper! The hotel is located near everything you could ever want. The Concierge and Front Desk staff are well versed on the area and made it easy for us to get around. They even shuttled us around in the company car. Note that the hotel is eco-conscious so they have a high-end HYBRID vehicle.
Class and Service
My office is right up the street. What a great addition to the neighborhood after having to endure the W Hotel for so many years. The hotel is very sophisticated and classy. The staff makes you feel so welcome. It is so great to have a Kimpton Hotel in LA. The hotel has an amazing design and fitness center.Great Hotel. I am woried to many people will find out about it and I will not be able to secure a room. I did meet the GM at the wine hour, very hospitable as everyone else. Great hotel, great service, great price and the beds!!!!!!!
Gorgeous New Hotel!
I just stayed at this hotel in Westwood area on Wilshire called Palomar that just opened up. I had to go to UCLA and it's really close. The place is beautiful and everyone was so friendly. I loved my room b/c it was high up and had great city views. Beds were amazing! Very cool decor but not so much that you don't fit in. The restaurant wasn't open yet but I looked at the menu and got to see the space which is also very urban. They have free wine for people in the lobby at night...please who doesn't love free wine! I've told my friends about this place and will certainly return!
